Green Tips for March Part 2: Keep the Hippy Eco-Love Flowing!
The hippies at Hippy Grandma give a “far out shout out” and thank you to Melody Owen of Ethical Consumer for providing our Green Tips.
March Green Tips
“Much to my dismay, I have recently read that we will be facing a drought this summer and water restrictions will be the norm. I live where once stood a great rain forest. Here on the west coast of Canada, we are known for rain yet with our culture of abundance we still manage to use enough water that restrictions are necessary. Here are some tips on reducing the amount of this precious resource that we use each day.
The Kitchen
In the kitchen, do not leave the tap running when washing vegetables and dishes. Resist the urge to run a partially filled dishwasher; wait until it is full or fill a sink with water and do them by hand. Another water saver is to put dry waste in the garbage rather than the garburator. Finally, keep cold water in the fridge so you are not tempted to allow the tap to run until the water is cold.”
We hope you enjoy the groovy green tips!
